It has been quiet for the last few weeks regarding any news. But, that was not without a reason. We here at the Symphony are busy as ever to provide excellent custom audio material for upcoming and currently released projects.

Projects such as Disneys TV Commerical for Club Penguin. A massively multiplayer online role-playing game, where players use cartoon penguin-avatars and play in a winter-set virtual world. If you are a canadian or US resident, you may have already seen the commercial on national television. If not, feel free to take a look and of course "listen" here:

Besides that, check out Disneys/Marvels iphone game Sentinel of Liberty, where we had the pleasure in creating custom instrument patches for it's music, composed by David A. Logan.

Furthermore, our composer and sfx designer JP Neufeld (aka Rig) was at this years PAX, where Solar 2 won Best Audio at Freeplay and 2nd place in Microsoft's Dream.Build.Play competition! An archievment truly to be proud of!

In other news, we have been constantly working on our website to make the user experience as smooth as possible. Changes were made in the database, custom graphics were implemented and most of our demo reels also have been updated with fresh new beats since we are constantly improving our quality.

Only the best, for the best!

So if you're looking for custom music / sound effects / custom voice acting or even the whole package for your game / movie / commerical (the list could go on and on), don't hesitate to

Contact us!

Timing has never been better!

Last but not least, we would like to thank all those who voted for Moonlight Difference AND more importantly Lost in Moonlight which was composed by our manly CEO Selcuk Bor as best of the week and best of all time (at least for this week) ^^ in the audio portal!

Thank you very much for your kindness! We're certainly glad you are enjoying our current and perhaps...future work! ;)

Questions? We're here to help!

Take care!

Over the last couple of weeks, a few new games have been released into the widening of the internet. Of course these games came with either a good portion of music / sound or both provided by us.

One of these games is the latest installement of Solar (originally released in 2009), a space simulation/action game where you play as the sun itself.

In most games you see stars in the background, you shoot asteroids or you live on planets. But in Solar 2 you ARE these objects! Enter a universe where you must prove yourself to the resident god-like figure by doing its many bizarre and varied tasks. Or just ignore it and see how big you can grow!

Solar 2 is an open-world, sandbox game set in an infinite abstract universe. Play constructively: grow your system, nurture life on your planets and attack enemy life in huge space battles. Play destructively: crash into other objects and cause chaos, use your orbiting objects like wrecking balls or steal planets from other systems.

The fun never ends!

In case you haven't checked it out already, it's available for purchase on Steam and soon on Xbox live indie game!

Steam - Solar 2

Give the demo a try! You won't be dissappointed! :)

We love games. We love to write music and design games. We love it so much in fact, we even launched production into developing our own games.

Our first project got off to an interesting start, in that, we got pretty far, and then we hit an interesting snag. And that snag readers, is we need a coder!

CODER!

AS3!

MAKE IT HAPPEN GENTLEMEN.

We have a large portion of the art already created, we at the symphony obviously have the music/sound covered, so we just need somebody to come on board and help tie the loose ends.

About the project.
We call it the Legend of Ragnarök. I even have that fancy accent on the o. Some people say that's not how it's spelled, but spell correction disagrees. It's a game about the player who takes on the role of the last legendary viking whose spirit is called to wage the holy war above to stop the end of the world below.

The mechanic is similar to the game Legend of Kupapa, if you google that you can find it here or on Armor Games to get an understanding of the main concept. I will share more with interested members. So if you're interested give us a pm or email and i'd be happy to talk with you!

Here is one of the backgrounds art for ingame.

have a good one Newgrounds.

Seeking AS3 Coder to complete team!

The Independent Games Workshop is looking for a few more people to collaborate on the second half of development on a rather large idea of an online strategy game - Underverse Online

Have a look: http://biz.myunderverse.com/ (Some details can be discussed in this thread and others via PM about this game, please ask!)

Here are the details:

Theme: An online multiplayer/singleplayer strategy board game (We already have a polished playable Alpha)

Start Date: ASAP - Approx End Date: Winter 2012 (we will try to finish before the world ends)

Who can join: AS3 Programmers, Flash Animators/Motionographers, Illustrators, Digital Painters and Alpha/Beta Testers

Tools: Flash CS4+, AS3, Smartfox 2X, After Effects

30 FPS, Stage Size 800x750 to Full Size Browser Canvas

How coauthors will be determined: While experienced folks are preferred, we are also willing to accept less experienced people provided they are an exceptional case and willing to put the serious time and effort in and learn along the way.

Will it Profit? Most certainly. Agreements have already been made and will be made amongst artisans in terms of rev-share and/or equity.

About Independent Games Workshop:

Who are we? We are you.

Like you, we stay up for long hours working to pit our creative against any multimillion funded "online" game company out there.
Like you, we don't wait for some company to discover and hire us for our talents, we're Independent all the way.
Like you, we bust our bums because we love it and don't need someone to reassure us or pat us on the back because our work speaks for itself.

We're a collaborative workshop of game makers, artists and craftsmen hense why go by our titles as Artisans. No bosses, no homage, just a common vision and goal.

The Symphony is very proud to be a part of this project and we hope those reading will also be interested! If you are, please go and post in this thread or leave a message here! If you're interested and would like to play test the game to get an understanding, pm me and we can get together on Skype/MSN/AIM/Gtalk and I can take you through the game's paces.

The doors are open and we're looking forward to meeting you, showing you the game and hopefully talk some shop.

Please reply with questions or PM me! Thanks!

As we strive to give our clients the best audio experience possible, we do not rest looking for new talents to satisfy the needs for even more genres.

Therefore we like to welcome our newest honorable team members:

- John Philip Neufeld (aka Rig)
- Brian Allen Holmes (aka thatcomposerguy) and
- Martin Köhler (aka B0UNC3)

Feel free to read their bios and have a listen to their demo reels for a better understanding of their work.

Whatever the challenge may be, we're ready to take it on!

Homepage

- Because of our newest team additions, three new audio reels have been added.

- In order to reduce the amount of spam a simple block plug-in was installed. If someone wants to make a comment on a project, a simple math question must be answered in order to proceed.

- An mp3-player was added to each project which plays examples of our work we did for them. Feel free to check out our project section to hear things for yourself.

That's all for now!

Welcoming New Faces & Other Updates

Posted by SoS - January 2nd, 2011

First of all, we at the Symphony wish you all a happy new year and all the best for 2011!

2010 has been a very productive year for us. Not only did we completely redesign our website, we also had the chance to work with many interesting new and long-time partners on several projects. Some already released...some still work in progress - and to look forward to.

Read on for more indepth overview of 2010 and outlook for 2011.

--------------------------------------
Homepage
--------------------------------------

Our home port was completely reworked from the ground over the last year in order to give our visitors a much clearer look and easier navigation within the site itself. Our latest update in december 2010 included a new sound fx demo along with an mp3-player for most projects with examples of the work we did for each of them. More updates to follow in 2011 and some of those will hold some interesting features.

--------------------------------------
Stock Audio
--------------------------------------

Our steadily growing stock library profile now holds a massive catalogue of over 200! items for a fraction of the price it would cost to have it custom crafted. And with our already low rates that's saying a mouthful.

Feel free to visit our profile over at Audio Jungle and hear for yourself that quality audio doesn't necessarily has to be expensive.

--------------------------------------
Freebies
--------------------------------------

Over the years, we had some time developing a few free to all sample packs. With those high quality packs we're also giving away a personal non-exclusive non-transferable right to use the sample content as an integral part of ones musical composition, in combination with other sounds, for both personal and commercial purpose. We only ask not to resell the sample content.

More packs will follow over time. So to anyone interested, feel free to follow us on facebook or Twitter for updates on already existing packs or new ones.

--------------------------------------
Conclusion
--------------------------------------

2011 has a lot in stock for us and maybe for you respectable readers as well, who knows? Though, one thing is certain...

We at the Symphony are here to stay to make your project worth much more with an immersive audio experience!

Questions? We're here to help!

Good day and take care!

...to Post Celebrity Up-Skirt Photos!

Dissident Zhang Zhuohua fought against the repressive Chinese government which sought to squelch his right to post unflattering pictures of celebrities with penises drawn in their mouths.

>> See the scandal video here <<

In this recent episode of the onions "Today Now!", one of our respective voice actors Yungi Chang got featured. Not as a voice actor, na'ah...this is Yungi Chang in person - acting.

So you see, we're not always "that" serious. :)

Enjoy!

We at the symphony have been very busy lately. Even more so than usual which we're pretty sure puts us under the workaholic label.

Putting our newly inflicted mental condition aside today we wanted to show all of Newgrounds our brand new site! The new site has some awesome new features which will allow us to interact with everybody and share a more friendly environment.

[ Our new Site ]

We also have a new blog where we will be uploading new material every so often to help promote knowledge for both producers and developers so we hope this proves a useful resource to some of you.

ON THAT NOTE, if you are a writer and are either a music producer or game developer who feels like they have something awesome and neat to share and would like another venue to showcase it we are very interested in hearing from you! Just write to us at blog[at]symphonyofspecters.com or leave us a pm/comment and we'll get that going for you.

Let us know if you break something. (Please don't break our site :c)

Unless you want to work with us for some custom audio for your next project. Then we can break stuff together.

REGARDING THE FREELANCE ARTIST

The site is great, we love it. But we are missing some crucial graphics that we at the symphony are not capable of bringing to life. So, we've put aside some funds in hopes to find somebody willing to take up the job and create us some nice slick graphics for now and in the future. If this sounds like something you'd be into drop us a pm/comment. Definitely want to hear from you all on this one.

Later good people!
